Christ Gospel Ministries Inc. (CGM) was birthed in prayer and obedience to God’s call in 2001, when Rev. Dr. G. Vijay Raju stepped into the villages of Andhra Pradesh with nothing but a Bible in hand and a heart burning with the Gospel. In those early days, the ministry was simple yet powerful. Under trees, in courtyards, and in small village homes, the Word of God was preached with boldness. People who had never heard of Jesus encountered the life-changing truth of the Gospel, and small fellowships began to form.

By 2005, the Lord had established the first churches through this ministry. These churches were planted not for numbers or appearance but with a clear foundation: the centrality of Scripture, the sufficiency of Christ, and the need for faithful discipleship. From the beginning, CGM carried a conviction that every church must be rooted in the Word of God and led by shepherds who live and teach sound doctrine. This guiding principle has defined the ministry ever since.

As the churches multiplied, a pressing need became clear. While new congregations were being formed, there were very few trained leaders who could shepherd them biblically. Many pastors had zeal and calling but lacked theological grounding. In response, CGM expanded its focus from church planting alone to include pastoral training and leadership development. It was not enough to gather believers into churches — they needed leaders who could feed, guide, and protect them with the truth of Scripture.

This shift opened new doors for partnership. In 2010, CGM began to collaborate with respected global networks such as Equipping Leaders International, BILD International, MINTS Seminary, Teaching Missions International, Reaching Souls International and PCA elders in the USA. Through these partnerships, pastors were trained in systematic theology, biblical interpretation, pastoral care, and mission strategy. This training was not merely academic but deeply practical, equipping pastors to disciple their congregations and expand the reach of the Gospel in their own regions.

At the same time, CGM recognized another challenge within the communities it served — the struggles of widows, single mothers, and unemployed women. Many of them lived in poverty, lacking resources or opportunities to provide for their families. In response, CGM launched women’s empowerment initiatives designed to restore dignity and create livelihood opportunities. Sewing centers, tailoring workshops, and small-business training projects were established, providing women not only with income but also with hope and a sense of belonging. Through these initiatives, women have not only found financial stability but also discovered the greater hope of Christ. These programs remain an integral part of CGM’s vision for holistic community transformation.

By 2018, God had expanded the reach of the ministry far beyond Andhra Pradesh. To strengthen accountability and create opportunities for international partnership, Christ Gospel Ministries was formally registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Georgia, USA. This opened the door for churches and individuals in America and around the world to join hands with the ministry in prayer, financial support, and mission involvement.

Today, CGM has grown into a network of more than 7,000 churches across India. These congregations stand as living testimonies of God’s faithfulness, each one proclaiming Christ in its own language and cultural setting. What began as a small village movement has become a Gospel-driven mission impacting entire regions.
